Public Area improvement of Dwarka including streetscape

The Commission has been keeping a close watch on the progress of the Dwarka Development scheme. On many occasions it has taken up with the DDA in respect of design of boundary walls, railings, street picture and other infrastructural requirements relating to Dwarka. Giving due regard to the extensive construction activity in Dwarka and large population that would eventually settle down there, the Commission decided to take up initially a study of streetscape for aesthetic and functional improvement.


The scope of work covers the following :

  1. Study of the ground condition viz. extent of execution of proposed roads sections at present.
  2. Preparation of a conceptual design system in respect of typical road section, landscaping system, intersections, junctions, scheme for infrastructure.
  3. Proposal for entry-exit of residential traffic and freight vehicles from the proposed expressway to Dwarka.
  4. Critique of existing road cross-section designs and proposal for ideal cross-section designs.
  5. Design of intersection, of both uniform and non-uniform traffic flow, including decisions on signals, roundabouts and traffic claming techniques.
  6. Locational criteria formulation for bus stops.
  7. Design proposal for Bus-shelter
  8. Landscaping design and street furniture
  9. Signage and Ramps
  10. Lighting
